About Manas Paper Products’ 140 kilowatt Rooftop Solar System
Manas Paper Products, a top notebook producer and a proud associate of ITC’s Classmate brand, was experiencing increasing electricity bills of almost ₹50 lakhs annually. With the aim to solve this problem, the company collaborated with Orb Energy for a sustainable, cost-saving solution. Orb Energy funded, designed, and commissioned a 140 kWp rooftop solar system at their plant in Hyderabad facility.
Since its inception, the system has produced more than 4 lakh units of green electricity and saved about Rs. 30 lakhs in two years. With a savings of about Rs. 15 lakhs annually, Manas Paper should be able to recover the entire cost within four years and garner an estimated Rs. 2.4 crores over 20 years.
