About Shakti Precision Components’ 4.48 Mwp Ground Mounted Solar System
Shakti Precision Components, a leading manufacturer of automotive and precision-engineered components in Bengaluru, set out to reduce rising energy costs and lower its carbon emissions. However, limited rooftop space at its factory made it challenging to scale up solar capacity. The company needed a way to generate more clean energy — without being constrained by available roof area.
After a successfully installating a 1.27 MW rooftop solar system at its Jigani factory, Shakti Precision once again turned to Orb Energy for an expanded solution.
In February 2024, Orb commissioned a 4.48 MWp ground-mounted solar system for Shakti Precision at its 30 MW solar park in Arsikere, Karnataka. Designed to maximize energy generation and deliver quick returns, the system achieved a payback period of just over three years.
Today, nearly 70% of Shakti Precision’s total energy requirement is met through clean power from the combined rooftop and off-site installations. This transition has not only reduced dependence on grid electricity but also reinforced the company’s leadership in sustainable manufacturing — delivering annual savings of Rs. 3.7 crore.
