30 Kilowatt Hybrid Rooftop Solar System for SLR Motors (YAMAHA), Tumkur, Karnataka

SLR Motors, an authorized Yamaha showroom in Tumkur, Karnataka, saw a sharp rise in electricity consumption as its sales and operations expanded. When the team approached the local DISCOM for a load enhancement, they were advised to install a costly 50 kVA transformer, which did not fit their long-term needs. Due to space constraints, fuel costs, and continuous maintenance needs, a generator was also impractical.

To address these challenges, SLR Motors installed Orb Energy’s 30 kWp hybrid rooftop solar system in 2025. This solar-plus-storage configuration ensured smooth operations even during blackouts, reduced reliance on the grid, and produced consistent power. Their monthly electricity costs decreased from Rs.30,000 – Rs.44,000 to just Rs.5,000 – Rs.6,000 after the installation, saving them almost Rs. 5 lakhs a year.
