We have uniquely designed solar photovoltaic and solar water heating systems, and we sell, install, and service most of these directly, through our own branch network, to better control the customer experience. Orb reaches out to rural markets, and serves the under-privileged who lack access to reliable energy.
Orb’s branches are primarily situated in smaller market towns, from which it’s staff press out into the villages to identify customers without reliable access to electricity. We do this in conjunction with banks who are eager to lend to villages for complete electrification – thus creating a solar village. Our Team
DAMIAN MILLER - CEO
Damian is a US and UK national, and the CEO of Orb. He has 15 years of experience in the solar photovoltaic industry, and a doctorate from Cambridge in solar technology in emerging markets. Before starting Orb, Damian launched solar businesses in India, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Indonesia, and China, where he oversaw the sale of more than 125,000 systems. Damian Miller is known for his ability to pioneer and lead new solar companies in Asia, and is the author of the recently published book Selling Solar.
NP RAMESH – CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Ramesh is an Indian national, and is Orb’s Chief Operating Officer. Ramesh brings more than 20 years of solid experience in the consumer electronics and solar photovoltaic industry in India and many parts of Asia. Ramesh is known for his innovative flare, hands-on management, and strong leadership.
HERRE HOEKSTRA – CHAIRMAN
Herre is a Dutch National and Chairman of Orb. Herre has many years of senior managerial experience in multinational companies, as well as medium sized businesses. This includes a background in the solar photovoltaic industry. Herre brings exceptional experience across a broad range of industries, combined with a passion for the solar business.
